From an EU-Citizen.Science post on Facebook today: a citizen-science themed version of the 12 Days of Christmas.

The third line of the popular carol is about Old Weather, looking at ships' logbooks.

If you have access to Facebook, you can see the whole series here.

Which reminds me - I don't recall seeing a Zooniverse advent calendar this year :(

Happy New Year, everyone!

I can hear fireworks, but given my location and the clouds, all I see is an occasional brightening of the sky.

Happy New Year!

We set off a few fireworks, didn't see many but we are in a rural area, so that is not surprising.

Happy New Year from the west coast! It seems that it arrived here, too, although we weren't up to see it.

Today looked remarkably like yesterday - it included some trifle for pudding and that was nice. ;)

Oh ghastly!!! Poor Gil and family!   What a relief that they are all safe! :) I had heard about the fires and hoped that all would be safe, had no idea that Gil was there. The fires came on so fast. I heard that the winds were over 110 Kph.
I am so, so sorry to hear his news. Please let him know how much we all wish him and his family well.
Where are they able to stay just now?
