Re: China Station, Japan, Pacific and Indian Ocean -- Discussion

My ship has been travelling through the Seto Inland Sea which doesn't seem to be in the China Pilot. I managed to find this online ... I didn't see it under the Japan links, here is the link in case it would be useful to include it. https://www.forgottenbooks.com/en/download/TheChinaSeaDirectory_107...

Re: Chat

I'd freeze for sure. Where I am, it's 24 to 32 deg Celsius every day :D :D :D Thank you one and all. As for the photo, SleepyOwl, thank you. But, been there, done that, moved to a warmer place. Hoar frost. Whitehorse -24C https://i.imgur.com/n4lfdxW.jpg Whitehorse, Yukon at -46C https://i.imgu...

Re: Chat

Hi Michael, just found out from Randi it's your birthday. Since it's already the 10th where I am, here's greetings before I rush off for night shift (meteorological picture for you from WMO 2022 calendar ;) ) :owl: Happy Birthday https://scontent.fsin9-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/263164655_1015918...

Re: Ashuelot (1869) — Discussion: Questions, Comments, and Coordination

Just found out there are going to be a couple of other new ships available for everyone, so if it's OK I'm going to reserve a few more years on Ashuelot ... I'm quite keen on transcribing ships in Asia, and they seem hard to come by.

So I'd like to reserve 1869, the entire year.

Re: Ashuelot (1867) — Discussion: Questions, Comments, and Coordination

Here are some of the more significant posts for the year, some quite graphic: 17 January 1867 1320h A very heavy explosion occurred at the North side of the harbor, immediately sent the Gig and 2 cutter in charge of Mates Cleaves and Cotton to the scene of the disaster. 1410h Gig returned in charge ...

Since Stuart has left this year to me, I'd like to reserve this year 1868.

It's great seeing it done, after much toil. ;) I can imagine even more rejoicing whenever an entire ship (all years) is completed.

Re: Manning (1907) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination

OMG ... that's a lot  That's a long queue. ;) I've been doing some extra processing on all our files for Kevin. It was quite extensive and time consuming, but it's all done now. I've also been busy making little tweaks to the spreadsheets, but with 26 on the go, that takes time, too.
