At 9:00 Called all hands up anchor, the anchor picked up another anchor, and it took till 10:45 to clear
At 945 Eugene Dunlea (2nd C. F.) attempted suicide by cutting his throat with a knife while confined in brig for safe keeping; during the remainder of watch he remained in the pilot house carefully guarded.
At 7 stopped and spoke schooner Jane Gray (Captian Kelly). The schooner's crew cheered the Thetis, whereupon we manned forward gang & cheered the Jane Gray.
At 1200 put over float, marked
