August done at last - Real Life kept getting in the way!
There was a lot of ice for the first two-thirds of the month.

On to September.

I'm having the same trouble with Real Life getting in the way, too!  ;)

September done. No ice, but none was expected.

On to October.

I also took a peek at November, and it's divided into two parts: The first part is the voyage to Seattle, the second is mostly in Seattle except for the few days at the end where she leaves.
As an Ice Hunter, should I still transcribe all of this, or is there anything I can skip?

As far as I know, you can skip the time IN Seattle.
Michael?

Michael?

If you're doing just Date and Location, then yes. (Unless they are there for just a short time, like a couple of days.) However, if you're doing weather, then you can't skip port time.

Thanks Michael. I'm just doing Ice Hunting, no weather, so I will do all of Nov Part 1, but only the last two pages of Part 2, because she's in port the rest of the time.

October and November done and uploaded, no ice for either.
Just December left, then another year will be complete.

Good job, Hanibal. I'm working on 1895 with about 2,000 calculations left to go...

And with December done, 1897 is complete.
On to May 1898.

(1897 had a little ice, but not much)

I was trying to figure out just where Ber landed in Hazen Bay. They were supporting the Overland Relief Expedition. I found this reference (https://www.history.navy.mil/research/library/online-reading-room/title-list-alphabetically/i/incredible-alaska-overland-rescue.html) to it. It looks VERY interesting. If only I had time to read it.  :-[
