I have decided to start with May of this year, since 1884 to 1886 use a different spreadsheet.

The pages look alright, I just gotta get used to a new format after all my time on the Storis.

... And I did. No ice, but I did it.
I can handle this ship, the course directions are just tedious with all these fractions - especially when they cram several into one line!

I will attack June next.

June done and uploaded.
No ice, but the last page had some stuff about the murder of a former archbishop!

I will work on July next.

EDIT: On July 6th, they captured the murderer (6 PM paragraph):

I read around this story when I first looked at these log books.  From memory it seems that the former Archbishop was leading an expedition to contact native American tribes and convert them to his church.  He may have been racing other rival churches in this quest.  One of his helpers was a parishioner he had helped through mental illness before.  In the hardships of the journey the helper became convinced that the former Archbishop was trying to kill him and so he acted first while the former Archbishop was sleeping. I think an insanity plea was accepted in the case.

July done and uploaded - there actually were two ice mentions on the 5th!
I almost missed them too.

On to August, I have noted that there is ice on the first two days.

August done and uploaded. A few ice mentions on the 1st and 2nd, as was already found out.

Tomorrow, I leave for a quick little trip to Bavaria, get back on Friday.
After that, I will reserve something from 1888, as this year is done.

The voyage for 1887 is done (https://drive.google.com/open?id=18T_SkftMKN0QdKzZghMb8eyCgjE6EOmA).

Near the end of this voyage, as they were coming into Unalaska on 25 August (https://catalog.archives.gov/OpaAPI/media/6919207/content/arcmedia/dc-metro/rg-026/585454-noaa/bear/vol066/26-159A-bear-vol066_104.jpg) she found two vessels, which she boarded. I was rather amazed at the number of seal skins on the Ada.

Quote
At 8.30 A.M. stopped and sent 1st Lieut. Hamlet to board AM. sch. "Allie J. Algan" of Seattle, as she had fresh seal skins on board she was seized, her papers taken from her and taken in charge of by 1st Lieut. Hamlet.

At 10 A.M. boarded Br. sch "Ada" of Shanghai, seized her with 1800 skins and 30 dead seals on board, leaving 3d Lieut. Kennedy in charge of her.
